Frequently Asked Questions

I have trouble creating a LANCOM connection based on an '.ini' file I received, can you help me?

First, check whether the LANCOM .ini file contains a line ExchMode=34. If it does, you need to create an IKEv2 connection (File > New Protocol Connection > IKEv2 IPsec). If not, you can create a connection using the appropriate LANCOM device profile (File > New Vendor Connection > LANCOM).

The configuration file may also contain an identifier setting named IkeIdStr. If present, set both the local and remote identifiers to the type “Email (UFQDN)” and use the value specified by this setting.

If the file includes a line Secret="…", configure the connection to authenticate using a pre-shared key. Set “Authenticate using” to “Pre-Shared Key” and enter the value from the Secret line, without the quotation marks.

If you continue to experience difficulties setting up the connection, please don’t hesitate to contact our support. When sharing your configuration file with us, be sure to create a copy and remove the Secret="…" line beforehand.
