Can I embed custom fonts in a Mail Designer newsletter?
No. Mail Designer does not support directly embedding custom or external fonts into an email.
You can choose your preferred company or default font in your design, but that font is not sent along with the email.
From a technical point of view, some email designs can reference hosted web fonts. In practice, this is not reliable enough to depend on in a newsletter: many email clients remove the required CSS, block remote font files, or ignore web fonts completely.
Whether a font can be displayed therefore depends on the recipient's email client and device. Some Outlook versions, smartphones, and other email apps may not load web fonts. The recipient may also simply not have your specific company font installed.
To keep your newsletter as close as possible to your intended typography, Mail Designer uses the proven industry approach for email design: a clearly defined chain of replacement fonts, also called fallback fonts.
