How do I start with a mostly blank design in Mail Designer?
If you want to build your own layout from scratch, first create a new design. Choose File > New Design from the menu bar, or use the keyboard shortcut Command + N.
You can also select the Basic template from Design Ideas. This template is a good starting point if you want a very simple layout.
Then remove any layout blocks or placeholder text you do not need.
After that, add the layout blocks you need step by step, such as text areas, image areas, or combined blocks with text and images.
We recommend starting with a simple overall structure: header, main content, call to action, legal notes, and footer. Once that structure works, you can fine-tune images, colors, fonts, and spacing.
For recurring emails, it is helpful to create a general base layout that you can reuse later. This lets you keep the header, branding, footer, and basic spacing consistent while swapping out different body elements for future emails.
