Frequently Asked Questions
Can I place text over a background image in Mail Designer?
Yes. In Mail Designer, it is possible to place text over background images. This can be done in both text areas and image areas. Both options have their own strengths and can be useful depending on the design style and technical requirements of your email.
Text areas are often the best choice when readability, copyability, and email reputation matter. Because the content remains real text, it is easier for recipients to read and can be processed better by email clients.
You can drag an image into the background of a text area to combine real text with a visual background. Formatting options are more limited than in image areas, though. Also be aware that there are no scaling options for background images in text zones. If you are aiming for a specific look, it may take a few tries to get the image size and position right.
Image areas are helpful when you need more design freedom and precise visual control. They work well for graphic effects, decorative layouts, or designs where the exact look is especially important.
The tradeoff is that text inside image areas does not have the same flexibility as real text. It cannot be selected like normal text and is less robust when images are blocked or when spam filters evaluate the balance between text and images.
