If you’ve noticed that your SonicWALL VPN connection settings in VPN Tracker have recently changed, it’s likely due to your network administrator reconfiguring your SonicWALL VPN following the recent data breach. During this incident, attackers gained access to SonicWALL’s cloud backup service, which stored firewall configuration files containing VPN credentials and pre-shared keys (PSKs). To prevent unauthorized access, SonicWALL instructed all administrators to rotate PSKs, update user passwords, and modify VPN configurations.
When these updates are made on the SonicWALL firewall, any corresponding connection shared with you needs to be updated to reflect the new, secure configuration. These changes ensure your connection uses the latest credentials and settings, protecting your organization’s network from potential exploitation.
If you experience connection issues or are unsure about any recent changes, contact your network administrator to confirm that you are using the correct connection profile. You can also review the SonicWALL security guide to learn more about the incident and the steps taken to secure affected VPNs.
